Extraction FAQs

Here you can find answers to our most commonly asked questions. If you have any further questions or can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please contact us and we’ll make sure you get the information you need to make a confident decision about your dental health!

Can I replace an extracted tooth?

Yes, there are several options to replace a missing tooth like dental implants, bridges, or partial dentures. Your dentist will recommend the best option for you based on your needs and preferences.

What do I eat after an extraction?

Eat soft foods like soups, mashed potatoes, and smoothies for the first few days. Avoid hard, crunchy, or hot foods that can irritate the extraction site.

How long does it take to recover from an extraction?

Most patients recover in a few days to a week. Follow your dentist’s aftercare instructions—avoid certain foods and practice good oral hygiene—to speed up the healing process.

When do I need a tooth extraction?

A tooth may need to be extracted if it’s badly decayed, damaged, infected, or crowded. Wisdom teeth need to be removed if they’re impacted or causing pain. Your dentist will assess your situation and recommend the best option.

Will I feel pain?

We numb the extraction site with local anesthesia so you won’t feel any pain during the procedure. You may feel some pressure but that’s it. After the extraction, counter pain relievers and soft foods will help with the recovery.
